The Simple Quilter is constructed of all wood with metal poles and hardware. It was built with the "Poor Boy" in mind. At half the cost of other quilting devices the Simple Quilter will handle most of your quilting needs from a small wall-hanging to a full king-size quilt. However; making very large quilts on any home quilting system is not highly recommended due to the bulk of the quilt under the arm of short-armed sewing machines.

It comes with track sections measuring 64, 48, and 24 inches. The 64 inch track can be used alone, with the 48 inch track, with the 24 in track, or with all three track sections combined for a length of 136 inches! When combining the 64 inch track section with the 24 inch section an eight foot table is needed. For the other combinations and full extent, you will need a 12 foot table. If you make mostly baby quilts and small wall-hangings the 64 inch track can be used alone on a 6 foot table.

The poles measure 72 inches, 48 inches, and 24 inches. When combined they give you a full 144 inches allowing for one foot of room at either end to get a close start and finish for your quilts.  When using the quilter at its full extent (in  making queen and king size quilts), we suggest purchasing 3 ten foot electrical conduit pipes 1/2 inch in diameter to insert inside the 3/4 inch poles included with the quilter. This gives you maximum strength and helps  prevent much of the sagging that occurs with poles of this length that have no support in the middle.

The carriages are equipped with ball bearing wheels which glide smoothly on metal tracks. A handy removable stylus is included that allows you to follow pattern designs making curves and swirls to suit your fancy. The gliding carriage allows you to guide and pivot your machine easily rather than wrestling a giant quilt inside your machine!

The Simple Quilter can be used with most regular sewing machines and those with arms up to 16 inches. The quilting area is limited only to the arm length of your machine. Both side arms of the Simple Quilter are equipped with levers that fit into the rachets for securing the poles after rolling the quilt onto the rollers. This is helpful for making larger quilts using short-arm machines. This enables you to "turn" the quilt and work from the other side if necessary. The other set of levers are not needed for smaller quilts or if the larger quilt fits under the arm of your machine.

It comes with most parts already assembled and can be setup in a matter of minutes.  A set of full instruction sheets with color photos for setting up the Simple Quilter and loading a quilt are included. These can be emailed upon request.
