Change My Heart, Oh Lord
Help me remove the walls of negativity
That surround my heart,
Built brick by brick
And stone by stone,
From all the times that I held back
My hand, my heart; my love
Retreating out of fear and doubt
Instead of responding to those in need
In compassion, mercy and love.

Change My Heart, Oh Lord
Help me release my judgment.
For you have shown me
That when I am critical of others
I am seeing a reflection of myself.
This is my mirror,
A reflection of my judgment.
Of those things in me
That I need to heal.

Change My Heart, Oh Lord
Help me bind my willful
And rebellious ways.
For I have learned
This separates me from you.
It is only in surrendering to your will,
That I am truly, liberated
And you are freed to act or intercede.

Change My Heart, Oh Lord
That I no longer choose
The path of unconscious choice:
Which is to linger in resentment,
To dwell in negativity
Be consumed by jealousy or anger,
Or enveloped in grief.
Languishing in an inner sense of emptiness.
For by living in the wilderness
Of human misconception
These lessons can only be learned
Through anxiety, pain, trauma and loss.

Help me to realize
By making conscious choice
I choose to learn through love and wisdom,
Where I am empowered
To challenge each temptation
As with them I come face to face.
For with each challenge I grow stronger
Perceiving each obstacle as a gift.

For it is by faith and trust
The veils of illusion will be lifted
Where forgiveness replaces regret
And temptation is my thankful opportunity
For being given the means of self-evaluation,
As now I am fully aware the consequences
Of the responses which I choose.

Now that I am awakened
By the Power of your Love
I am no longer a Babe of Christ,
But the Master Presence grown to full stature.
And I speak and command with authority.
I have put on the garment of Christ,
As I joyfully come into your presence
And receive the promise of your Everlasting Covenant
As the evolution of my soul is perfected.
